A Gift of Connection: Angel Eye Cameras for NICU Families

Posted: Sep 16, 2025

At Studer Family Children’s Hospital and Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast, we know how hard it is to be away from your baby in the NICU. That is why this September, for NICU Awareness Month, we are installing 82 Angel Eye cameras.

These cameras give parents secure live video so they can see their little one anytime on their phone, tablet, or computer. Families can also receive updates and education through the platform, bringing peace of mind when bedside visits are not possible.

“The Angel Eye cameras are an incredible resource for parents who are separated from their babies. They allow families to check in while their little one is sleeping and see how they’re doing, even from home. It offers comfort and reassurance, letting parents know their baby is okay, even when they can’t be there in person,” said NICU Nurse Sarah Kuhner.

This project was fully funded by Cat Country Cares for Kids Radiothon and Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation. Because of their generosity, families will always feel close, even when they cannot be in the NICU.

From our hearts to yours, thank you for giving parents the gift of connection, comfort, and joy during one of life’s most challenging journeys
