Annual First Responders Christmas Light Parade Brings Holiday Joy to Patients and Families
Posted: Jan 14, 2026

On Christmas Eve, patients and families at Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart were treated to a heartwarming holiday surprise during the annual First Responders Christmas Light Parade. First responders from across Pensacola and Escambia County gathered in front of the hospital, lighting up Bubba Watson Drive with flashing lights and festive cheer.
Emergency vehicles—from fire engines to police cruisers and more—filled the hospital entrance, creating a dazzling light show that delighted those spending the holiday in our care. Adding to the excitement was a very special guest from the North Pole: Santa Claus himself, riding high atop a fire engine ladder and spreading extra joy to patients, families, and caregivers.
This meaningful tradition is made possible through a joint effort of the Pensacola Police Department, Pensacola Fire Department, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Escambia County Fire Rescue, Florida Highway Patrol, and other local first responders. We are deeply grateful to all who participated and helped make Christmas Eve brighter for our patients and their loved ones.
