Early Detection Starts with Access

Posted: Oct 18, 2026

For many women, an annual mammogram can be easy to postpone. Work, family responsibilities and the cost of care can all stand in the way. But when it comes to breast cancer, a screening that takes only a short time can make a life-changing difference.

Because of your generosity, uninsured women in our community have access to mammograms and the follow-up care they may need—helping remove financial barriers to early detection.

So far in 2026, donor support has helped provide:

  • 121 normal mammograms
  • 17 recalls for additional imaging
  • 7 short-term follow-ups
  • 1 biopsy

Each number represents more than a screening. For 121 local women, it meant the reassurance of a normal result. For others, it meant access to additional imaging and follow-up care when something needed a closer look.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we celebrate the difference that access can make. Because of you, more women can put their health first and receive the screenings they need—regardless of their ability to pay.
